Students will experiment with different media and make comparisons between background and subject. 

Students will study depth and perspective using simple shapes and textures to create colored pencil landscapes.

Students will use art materials and narrative to understand stages of water and scientific properties in art.

Students will use expressionistic colors to create depth in a personally significant landscape inspired by Etel Adnan.

Students will use colorful pieces of torn paper to emulate "Alma's Stripes." They may choose between radial and linear designs and use their own color choices.

Students will use 3 cool colors to create a galaxy background and design their own planets. 

Students will use 3 warm  colors to create an abstract background Of the African Savanna and design their own animals. 

Students will learn about the cultural significance of masks, then use clay to design their own masks inspired by animals.

Students will use music to create a kinetic work of art while listening to Jazz and practice guided drawing to make an instrument
