This portrait was created using an additive and subtractive method. This piece is part of a diptych called Traditional Values in which I compared my future with my boyfriend to my memories with my grandmother through symbolic portraiture of our hands.

"Helen's Hands" 2024

This portrait was created using an additive and subtractive method. This piece was created in memoriam for my grandmother, Helen, the week of her passing. Due to her Rheumatoid Arthritis, her hands are as recognizable as any traditional portrait. It is the other half of the Traditional Values pair.

"Nude 2018"

"Nude 2018" is a large scale drawing completed in anatomy class. This hour long session represents the challege of creating under a definitive deadline, while viewing a live subject.

"Pastel Mountains" 2021

The detail in this piece was achieved through a sgraffito technique of scratching through layers of pastel to reveal those colors underneath and was an experiment to acieve these textures.
